Research & Development (R&D) Skillnet
R&D Skillnet is a national Network with members from multinational and SME companies with an emphasis on the Life Sciences sector.
Funding was received from Skillnets to provide training and skills development programmes for companies in the medical device, chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. In addition to education and development courses, events are regularly organised for the members of the network. The R&D Skillnet is located in the Midlands Innovation & Research Centre (MIRC),Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT), Dublin Rd, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

The purpose of the Skillnet is to increase the level of knowledge and skills of a broad variety of employees affording them the opportunity to gain experience thereby developing competencies across the organisations.

The R&D Skillnet is an enterprise-driven network which receives funding from The Training Networks Programme operated by Skillnets Ltd. The Training Networks Programme is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.
